Lemongrass Tea

Ingredients

  • 2 stalks fresh lemongrass
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 CUT the bottom (2 to 4 inches) moist portion of each lemongrass stalk. Carefully crush or bruise each lemongrass piece to release the flavor. Cut into smaller 1-inch pieces.
  • 2 BRING water to boil in small saucepan. Add lemongrass; boil 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in sugar and salt until dissolved. Discard lemongrass. Set tea aside to cool.
  • 3 SERVE tea chilled or in a tall glass with ice.
