NEW PRODUCT: THAI KITCHEN LAUNCHES FIRST LESS SODIUM PREMIUM FISH SAUCE

April 21, 2006 – Union City, CA – Catering to heart healthy consumers, Thai Kitchen, the leading producer of Thai ingredients, is introducing the first Less Sodium Premium Fish Sauce to the US market.

Fish sauce is the essential savory flavor in all traditional Thai cuisine.  Its rich and complex flavor blends smoothly with sweet, tangy and spicy ingredients.  “Without this important flavor, a classic Thai dish just wouldn’t be Thai,” says Ernest Wong, Thai Kitchen marketing manager. “Unfortunately, people who love Thai cuisine and are concerned with their sodium intake cannot enjoy real Thai cuisine to the fullest.  Now we have provided them an option.  We know it will offer great profit opportunities for our retail partners.”

Thai Kitchen Less Sodium Premium Fish Sauce contains 25 percent less sodium than the original.  It is made from the careful first-pressing of salted anchovies that have been aged for up to 12 months. The anchovies are harvested from coastal waters in the Gulf of Siam. Unlike other fish sauces, it is 100% anchovy extract with no water or msg added.  The result is a pure smooth, extra-virgin Thai flavor.

A versatile pantry staple, Thai Kitchen Less Sodium Premium Fish Sauce provides an authentic touch and rich, vibrant note when preparing Thailand’s classic dishes. It is also a refreshing replacement for soy sauce and salt in more traditional U.S. salad dressings, marinades and sauces.

Thai Kitchen Low Sodium Premium Fish Sauce and the original Thai Kitchen Premium Fish Sauce are available in 7 fl. oz. bottles and retails for $3.25 ARP. For distribution inquiries please call 800-967-8424(THAI).
