THAI KITCHEN OPENS COOKING SCHOOL IN THE HEART OF BANGKOK

50% Discount on Cooking Classes During May

March 27, 2006 – Union City, CA – Thai Kitchen, the nation’s leading producer of authentic Thai food products and ingredients, recently opened Epicurean Kitchen - a hands-on cooking school in the heart of Bangkok.  Epicurean Kitchen is devoted to educating visitors about Thai cuisine and teaching them how to recreate the tastes, flavors and techniques at home.

Based in the Silom/Sathorn, in the heart of the city, the not-for-profit school is the brainchild of Thai Kitchen founder Seth Jacobson.  The hands-on, three and a half hour classes are limited to seven students and taught by Thai Kitchen-trained chefs.  The classes are designed to unwrap the mysteries of Thai ingredients and cooking techniques so visitors can easily prepare Thai meals at home.  Six Thai dishes are taught in each class including beverages, curries, sauces, soups and salads, entrees and desserts.  Menus change daily and include such favorites as Coconut Ginger Chicken Soup, Green Curry Beef, Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp Spicy Lemongrass Soup and Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango.

“Our cooking school is designed to make visits to beautiful Bangkok more than just about sights and sounds, but about taste too,” said Seth Jacobson. “Now visitors have another way to understand Thai culture and take a taste of Bangkok home with them.” Students will learn how to prepare Thai dishes with locally grown ingredients and how to duplicate the dishes at home using Thai Kitchen food products.  In addition to a new understanding of Thai cuisine, students receive a Thai Kitchen canvas bag filled with a cookbook, recipes and samples of five different Thai Kitchen cooking ingredients.

During May 2006, Epicurean Kitchen is offering travelers a 50 percent discount on class fees.  From May 1-31, class fees are reduced to $25USD. Thai food lovers simply log onto http://www.thaikitchen.com/cookingschool.html to register.

Epicurean Kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm.
